Great Vaishnava Festival in Marcos Paz, Argentina

Dear devotees, matajis & friends:
Our pranams unto all of you. Here we are sending a report of the last vaishnava festival that took place in Buenos Aires, more specifically in the city of Marcos Paz, in a big programme called “De Shanti a Prem” (from Shanti to Prem). This was some kind of closing-year (christian mood) fest for the community in Buenos Aires, and there were almost 100 devotees and friends, sharing very special moments of music, art, kirtan, prasadam and sadhu sanga.
Thanks to all the devotees for their nice participation and effort…

Gaura Haribol!!!

Sriman Mahaprabhu from New Vrindavan Dham came to illuminate the party with His dearest associates, the Vaishnavas.

Trascendental Theatre: “Los Gandharvas de Charly” (“The Charly´s Gandharvas”)

This special theatre conscious group made their auspicious debut, during the last Vyasapuja festival of our dear Srila Guru Maharaj. Combining a strong message (vegetarianism, non-violence, purity, etc.), along with extreme funny scenes with dancing and music, this day they presented a new play, called “La Vaca Dance” (“the Cow Dance”), where they developed a very convincing story about what vegetarianism and cow killing represent. Some of the friends and people invited, after the play, said “I´m seriously thinking about becoming vegetarian…”

Giri Raga Band

This unique group combines the rich sounds of african and eastern music, with the dub and reggae roots, making a genuine mixture of it with vedic mantras and conscious lyrics. Their presentation was for the delight of all, who appreciated the clear and powerful sound of the band.

Surya

Surya has become one of the most popular bands of the yatra, with his particular new sound, adding a new guitar player and some changes in the formation of the group. They presented a very subtle melodic hardcore, with very explicit devotional lyrics that touched the heart of all the presents.

Surya, trascendental & melodic hardcore punk, live in Marcos Paz…

Here we see Hanuman prabhu, singer of the band, Krishna Karuna das in bass, and a mysterious drummer behind…

The band has recently recorded their first CD, called “Invitation to a friend”.
Vipralambha

This night was the official debut of one of the newest bands of the yatra. Nobody had a clear idea of what they would do, and the result was astonishing for all: a very original combination of 60´s & 70´s sounds and melodies, including artistic performances and recitations during and between the songs.

Vipralambha, the new band of the yatra, making their debut in “From Shanti to Prem”.

The group presents a very particular combination of psychedelia, garage rock, blues, and techniques of improvisation of indian music.

With shocking conscious lyrics & poetry, the band is preparaing their first CD nowadays…

Dear devotees & friends: It´s a very nice notice for us to be able to present you this special new material: It´s a documentary made in a TV news programme in the city of Concepcion, where the devotees appear speaking about the daily devotional life in Krishna Consciousness.
The programme is spoken in Spanish, but in spite of this fact, we consider that the material was quite valuable and beautiful, and it easily trascends any idiomatic barriers.
