Medellin's Festival
of Myths and Legends
Govindas Cultural Center
Medellin, Colombia Yatra

Today we want to share an amazing photo report sent by Prabhujee Mukunda Vilas das.  It consists on the successful participation of the Govindas Cultural Center in the fantastic carnival which has recently taken place in Medellin, Colombia Yatra.

Myths and legends is the most important carnival of Medellin city. A massive display of art and folklore that was for the first time adorned with the presence of Sri Sri Jagannath Baladeva and Subhadra in a beautiful and colorful Ratha yatra.

12 Giants Dolls of three meters represented a clash between devas and asuras, the meticulous work of artists was highly appreciated. Featured work of Vamsi d.d, Subal das, Syama d.d, Krishna Samhita d.d. and other dedicated staff.

The four heads Brahma, a majestic Vishnu and Shiva with trident dazzled the audience along with Lakshmi, Durga, Surya and the other demigods.

The transcendental pastimes of Krishna stood out among the local myths and legends by the variety and opulence of its characters.

The most applauded were the beautiful apsaras represented by Jagannath priya, the famous Indian dance group from the city of Medellin.

An impressive four-meter Raju showed his anger with a great performance of Goura Gadhadhara prabhu and the Demons (represented by the brahmacaris of Harijan Mandir).

The audience was stunned by the display of brightness and color that represents the Vedic culture. Notably, the Govindas Cultural Center come to this event by winning to several other groups in a preliminary contest. Thanks to the shakti of harinama.

Various Graphics Media recorded the passage of the devotees, who were undoubtedly the favorite of the public.

The great parade culminated with the impressive float of Sri Sri Jagannath Baladeva and Subhadra, who despite the heavy rain gave Their darshan to thousands of people present there and also to millions who watched the event on national television.

The challenge was to perform an arrangement of such magnitude; it would take several months but it was surprisingly finished in just two weeks.  This great service was successfully achieved through unity and sacrifice of many devotees. The artistic design and coordination was done by Mukunda Vilas Prabhu and Galexis Fransua.
